Who We Are
We are a queer women owned business founded on a love of plants and the belief that beautiful gardens can help us connect more meaningfully with the natural world and our communities.
Our vision is to create a network of backyard habitats that can work together to increase biodiversity. We approach each project with curiosity and a joyful enthusiasm for the outdoors.
Julia holds a Masters in Landscape Architecture from Umass Amherst and a Bachelors in Architecture from Syracuse University. She has over a decade of experience working in the design and construction industry. She started her design journey in Architecture working on projects ranging from private residential to 170 acre master plans. After 7 years in the Architecture industry she decided to chase her dream of working with plants and owning her own small business. After attending the Masters of Landscape Architecture program at University of Massachusetts Amherst she opened up Seed Craft. In addition to running her own business Julia teaches Landscape Architecture at Umass Amherst.
When she isn’t designing gardens, thinking about gardens, reading about gardens, or working in her own garden she can be found working on her art, walking with her dogs and partner in the woods, or refinishing furniture she saves off the streets.
